Every year the Geological Remote Sensing Group (GRSG) offers up to three awards of £750 each , to aid and reward students (from any country) that are engaged in a variety of geoscientific remote sensing research. These awards may be used to support laboratory work, fieldwork, data/software purchases, attendance at conferences, and international collaborations. Application forms should be sent to the Student Awards Committee at awards [at] grsg [dot] org [dot] uk.
The deadline for this year's awards is extended to the 20th April, 2012 and the successful applicants will be announced in May.
To be eligible for a GRSG student award you must meet the following requirements:
- must be a student member of the GRSG at the time of application or enclose membership form along with application (see application form)
- must be enrolled on a full or part-time university programme focused on some of aspect geological remote sensing
If you're successful, you will be required to submit a report on your research results, and how the funds were used, for publication in the GRSG Newsletter and submit an oral or poster presentation at the GRSG AGM at 11.-13. December 2012.
